Shilo Caravantes
Shilo is the founder and sports therapist specialist at the Recovery Lab Institute. Shilo began his journey as an athlete competing in high school football and baseball at the national level, which has helped him understand the therapeutic needs of today’s athletes. To support his background in athletics and passion for sports medicine, Shilo is continuing his education with a B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Biomechanical Analysis of Efficiency. Shilo holds many certificates in a diverse mix of independent trainings such as active release therapy, systematic dry needling, therapeutic cupping, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, active resistance neuromuscular massage, and as a strength and conditioning specialist/personal trainer.
Shilo specializes in sports therapy, injury rehabilitation and the relief of chronic pain patterns. Although Shilo specializes in treating athletes, he also works with the general population who are experiencing chronic pain or with those who are unable to find resolution using conventional treatments or are trying to optimize their recovery from an injury or pain.
Shilo has extensive experience in providing sports therapy and treating athletes of all levels and sports – from top college athletes and professional athletes (NFL) (MLB) (NBA) to professional fighters (MMA). He also holds a leadership role in the programming and treatment for D.C. Athletics' pre-NFL Combine Training Program. Despite the obvious accolades associated with this level of clientele, he’s proudest moments come from his experiences working with high school student-athletes.
Practicing an evidence-based approach to treatment dependent upon the problem or injury he needs to address, Shilo customizes his treatments specifically for each client’s needs using several different methods and treatments.
